PREFACE

“Prod! Prod! Like this!”

A salesgirl was jabbing my left arm, as she stood before me in the middle of Marks and Spencer. She persisted in a very intense manner.

“Prod! See? Prod!”

I took a step back, slowly, to avoid being the target of her torpedo-like pointy finger, while trying not to appear unappreciative of her attempt to communicate with such deliberate intention.

“I’m sorry, I don’t understand…”

“PROD! PROD-juice! Get it? PROD-juice!”

Direct hit. Another jab delivered as she stepped towards me, as if coming closer and pushing harder would clarify our communication. We spoke the same language, yet I had no idea what this woman was trying to say.

In Louise's ability to see beyond time and death, she is able to show how patterns that originate in our childhood do continue to repeat themselves and influence relationships in the present. Many of our reactions and responses to others—in our personal and professional relationships—are shaped by fears and unresolved issues that we project from the past, as well as our tendency to obsess about the future, the unknown.

We are in the midst of a tremendous acceleration in the expansion of consciousness, causing dramatic shifts in our perceptions of time and space, and of death. It is necessary for the survival of our species that we trust our own ability to perceive beyond linear time, and to receive information that is available from beyond what we now understand as the "illusion" of death.

The remarkable consequence of Einstein's Theory of Relativity is that it has revolutionized our ideas of time and space. According to Einstein: "Time is relative to where the observer is standing."

Time truly does not exist, except in the way that we witness it. Through our perceptions, we experience still scenes that are not moving through time. Rather, this is our consciousness moving through these scenes, creating the perception of movement and time according to what our consciousness can perceive.
